DEPARTMENT 15 – PHOTOGRAPHY

CONDITIONS OF ENTRY-PHOTOGRAPHY
- Open to all residents of Anderson County and any person who works for or is retired from an Anderson County employer.
- Anyone who earns more than 25% of their total income from photography is considered a professional and is not permitted to enter.
- All photographs submitted must be the work of the exhibitor and photographed in the last 5 years at the time of the fair.
- Any photograph that has previously won a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd prize at this fair is not eligible to compete.
- No more than one print may be entered in any one Lot (or category) with a maximum of seven (7) prints in all Lots (or categories).
- DEFINITION OF LOT (OR CATEGORY) WILL BE ENFORCED!
- Each photo submitted must be unique (an exhibitor may not submit the same image in more than one photography class or lot).
*1st place winners in categories marked with * may qualify for TN State Fair Competition entry (Categories: Best of Show: Color Photo, Best of Show B&W Photo, Photo of Animal, Photo Containing People, Photo-Agriculture Down on the Farm).
Class 1: Mounted Photography Class (Lots 1-15):
Mounted Photography Class Rules:
Minimum print size will be 5×9 Do not crop or matte photograph below this size. Maximum print size including matte is 16x2O.
Each print, regardless of size, MUST BE MOUNTED ON 16x2O MOUNT BOARD OR FOAM CORE BOARD. DO NOT USE POSTER BOARD!
Color matte board complementary to the photograph may be used. Framing is not allowed but a plastic “shrink wrap” is allowed for protection if you feel it necessary.
Mounted Photography Class: Black and White or Toned
Lot 1-People (Portrait & Candid)*
Lot 2-Scenics (Landscape, Seascape, or Skyscape)
Lot 3-Still Life and/or Plant World
Mounted Photography Class: Color Prints

Rules for 5×7 Unmounted Photography Class (Lots 16-23):
Entries should be 5×7 size (horizontal or vertical perspective), no mounting required. We do reserve the right to refuse any photos with inappropriate subject matter (i.e. nudity, etc.) at the discretion of the department chairman.
